Key Bearers Reaches 7 Million Milestone

By Ron Kopczick | May 28, 2008

It took nearly 3 years for the first 1 million copies of Today’s Pentecostal Evangel to be provided to the incarcerated through the Key Bearers program that was created in 1996. Thanks to generous and loyal supporters, the ministry now sponsors more than 730,000 Evangels on an annual basis.

Donations received during April pushed the total number of underwritten Evangels past the 7 million mark. Inmates in more than 500 correctional facilities across the United States receive the publication on a weekly basis, with the Spanish version, Evangelio Pentecostal Hoy, arriving quarterly.

While the amount of sponsored magazines is staggering, the more significant figure is the number of men and women serving time who’ve committed their lives to Jesus Christ through the Key Bearers ministry.

Since January 2004, nearly 4,900 prisoners have reported their salvation experiences to the Evangel. That’s an average of 1,100 new converts per year.

In addition, untold thousands within the prison population are encouraged and assisted in their spiritual growth due to the Key Bearers outreach. Every donated dollar provides four copies of the Evangel.
